Clydach Community Garden

SWANSEA, SOUTH WALES

Welcome to our garden!

Clydach Community Garden launched in Spring 2019, transforming a disused piece of public land into an educational green space for learning about food, climate and the environment. Over the years we have developed a core group of nature-loving volunteers, built links with local schools and care homes, and created a beautiful safe haven for all members of the community. We run weekly sessions for our core volunteer base as well as additional activities and events for the wider community. We teach organic and regenerative practices, predominantly focusing on fruit and vegetable production, and recently expanding into cut flowers and ornamentals. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, and able to deliver sessions and projects through funding opportunities and in-kind support. Through these activities we deliver informal education and local capacity building, as well as providing a welcoming atmosphere where attendees can learn new skills, spend time in nature, and make new connections within their  community.

WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS SAY

"Our community garden means everything to me, our gardening sessions are the highlight of my week. Our volunteers see the garden as an important resource when it comes to socialising and meeting others. The weekly sessions bring people together to look after the garden, meet others and learn new skills. I'm positively overwhelmed with how we have made it what it is today, with lots of hard work and determination."

Funders!

As a not-for-profit enterprise our invaluable work in the community is only possible through the generosity of local and national funders, and through annual fundraising events and donations.

Our success and influence is partly down to our organisational structure which relies on financial support for delivery and project development. Therefore we are always on the look out for new sponsors and funders who are keen to support the health and wellbeing of communities through environmental education and sustainable food production.

We also offer volunteering days and corporate social responsibility related activities for companies and organisations looking to give back to the community. These are tailor made to suit your requirements.
