About Us
Clydach Community Garden launched in Spring 2019, transforming a disused piece of public land into an educational green space for learning about food, climate and the environment. Over the years we have developed a core group of nature-loving volunteers, built links with local schools and care homes, and created a beautiful safe haven for all members of the community. We run weekly sessions for our core volunteer base as well as additional activities and events for the wider community. We teach organic and regenerative practices, predominantly focusing on fruit and vegetable production, and recently expanding into cut flowers and ornamentals. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, and able to deliver sessions and projects through funding opportunities and in-kind support. Through these activities we deliver informal education and local capacity building, as well as providing a welcoming atmosphere where attendees can learn new skills, spend time in nature, and make new connections within their community.

How we operate
We are a constituted organisation with a governing committee , who make decisions based on the needs of the garden members and the local community. We have a Community Garden Project Delivery Manager who works closely with the committee to deliver all volunteering sessions and garden activities and drives the development of the garden and organisation.

We have approximately 25 regular weekly garden members who volunteer their time to work in the garden, assist with projects, and support each other through our activities. With a long waiting list, the demand for joining our garden is high, and we hope to be able to expand our offer as and when opportunities arise.

We are always keen to expand our work in the community as well as delivering horticulture and environmental based projects. If this is of interest to your organisation, group or activity, please get in touch.
